Innovative and sustainable rain water projects in Senegal In June we will start two innovative rain water projects in Senegal. In both projects rain water will collected, filtered, purified and distributed in the villages of Walalane and Nghadior. That is done using our newly developed low cost RainCAP system: we are able to collect 50 m3 rain water (or multiples) in a highly economic and effective way by using a innovative foil tank construction. To reach financial sustainability, the water is sold in a Water Shop, managed by an local entrepreneur in cooperation with the village. The demonstration project is sponsored generously by the Hofstad Lyceum, (The Hague, The Netherlands) and would not have been possible without the help of Pepam-Aqua Senegal, Caritas Senegal and the Rain Foundation, The Netherlands.
